From 11 to 14 October 2017 the Centre for Ecumenical Research (Prof. P. De Mey) and a KU Leuven research project on 'The Crisis of Religion and the Problem of Roman Catholic Self-Definition' (Prof. W. François) are organizing the 11the Leuven Encounters in Systematic Theology (LEST), focusing on the commemoration of 500 years Reformation. This conference, entitled ‘Ecclesia semper Reformanda: Renewal and Reform beyond Polemics’, will be opened by prof. Theodor Dieter, who will receive an honorary doctorate of KU Leuven in February 2015. Among the keynote speakers are several renowned Reformation specialists and ecumenists: Andreas Beck (ETF), Wim François (KU Leuven), Deenabandhu Manchala (United Church of Christ), Annemarie Mayer (KU Leuven), Charlotte Methuen (University of Glasgow), Kenneth Mtata (Zimbabwa Council of Churches), Karen Kilby (Durham University), Violet Soen (KU Leuven), Mirjam van Veen (VU University of Amsterdam), Lee Palmer Wandel (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Susan Wood (Marquette University).
